A teenager’s bedroom
My parents have decided to move from a house in the country to a house in the city, as my dad has decided to get a job as a nurse in the local hospital. This means we will have to live closer to his job. I’m allowed to design my dream bedroom! It would be a large room with lots of exquisite features... But what words will describe it? Smart and sassy? Or bright and courageous? It is entirely up to me to decide.
It would have famous movie stars, singers and models painted all over the walls- from Marilyn Monroe to the Beatles- I will of course name it! During my obsession with water as a young child after many trips to the sea-side, I would have to fulfil this obsession by including a four-poster water bed in my outrageous room.
Whilst I rest on my bed, there would be heart-shaped, stress-relieving cushions, for de-stressing during the hectic school week schedule. Combine all this with my florescent pink duvet and snugly cushions, I will be fully refreshed and ready for action.
Hanging from my starlit ceiling would be a bubble chair for some quiet reading of magazines or the thought of homework whilst relaxing. Strolling around my room, my feet would indulge themselves in the tenderness of my cream, cashmere carpet.
All my retail therapy spending will have to go somewhere, but none other than my ‘walk-in-wardrobe’ would make the perfect fit for my clothes and shoes. All my necklaces and earrings would hang off my fit-for-a-princess-designed jewellery-holder, placed on my lustrous french dressing table.
Following my movie star theme, I would naturally need a 1950s style juke box to listen to all the happy-happening tunes from the 1950s. I would of course need a desk for the serious topics of the world, but a large desk with a white board attached would make pure sense for the work-mode.
My bedroom would have an en-suite attached with a mini waterfall trickling down from the ceiling to wash my hands in and a hassle-free shower with no door. My toilet seat would have real fish swimming inside it, I cannot think of a more sophisticated bathroom!
With all these ideas for my room, I do sincerely hope my parents buy this house. If they don’t, I’m sure I will make this dream room reality when I’m older, because after all, it will be my own room.
